Chtel jsem se zeptat, jako cerstvy uzivatel, mi compex provadi jednu nepeknou vec. Mam zari zeni na pude, eth kabelem do switche a 2 PC za switchem, v rezimu Wireless Routing Client vse chodi, uroven 36 %, parada, ale po vypnuti obou PC a naslednem zapnuti je bud disconnected nebo pise uroven 21% a jede na 1MBit. Po resetu naskoci normalne. Setkal se s tim nekdo? Firmvare 2.94 Build 0211, Feb 11 2004. Pokud to nasadim na obecni urad (jsme mala obec), tak me nakopou.
Me se u Compexu hodne stava ze se naladi uplne na jiny kanal nez by mel. Situace:
Mam AP ktere bezi na CH 3, pak mam Compexe jako AP Client s nastavenym SSID. Hned vedle anteny kam je zapojen Compex je dalsi mensi antena na ktery je zapojen Dlink700AP (rezim AP). Dlink je nastaven na CH11 a Dlink vysila signal na me kde mam druheho Compexe jako AP Client (prvni Compex a Dlink pouzivam jako retranslacni stanici, protoze nevidim primo na hlavni AP).
JENOMZE se mi dost casto stava, ze prvni Compex se sam naladi na CH11 a pak se to mezi sebou mele a nefunguje to. Pritom mam vsude na Compexech nastaveno SSID, aby to opravdu chytalo ty site, ktere chci ja. Presto se tak nedeje. Jde to jeste nejak jinak nastavit natvrdo, aby Compex jel na kanalu, na kterem chci ja a aby se samovolne neprestavoval???
Prodám HW AP Compex WP11B+, dva týdny staré, uplně nové, funkční, 2 roky záruka, se vším příslušenstvím, za 3000kč. popř. přidám 4 metry dlouhý tenký kabel s koncovkami M a F.
pro mensi site, nebo koncove site proc ne?
ale u vetsich siti kvuli dyamickemu routovani by se to moc pouzit nedalo.
dal, za tu cenu uz bych pouzil spis ten Compex, protoze v nem je i wifi interface.
zas nema v sobe switch, ale i kdyz koupim samostatny switch a compex,
tak myslim ze to vyjde levnejc, nez kdyz bych koupil samotneho Wifi
klienta a tenhle router.

Tak sem Compexakum jeste jednou zkusil "zahrat na city" ohledne regulace WP11B+ ... ;-) Doufam ze sem tam nenapsal nejakou koninu...;-))
Uvidime, pouzivame to u nas hodne, ale kdyby to neproslo, asi vazne prejdeme na Asusy WL500b s tim hacknutym fw s regulaci, ac neradi...

I have a question about Compex WP11B+ which is a very sofisticated device and we are widely using it in "Wireless routing client" mode in our local wireless network.
We would really appretiate the option to regulate TX power of the used WL11B+ card. The point is that in some cases (longer distances) we need to use "better" antennas with greater gains (and small output angles) and in these cases (without regulating TX power) we break the rules of local wireless authoriries. Now it's impossible to connect for example 26dB ISM antenna to Compex WP11B+ (via short coax.cable) without possible punishment...
If there was a functioning TX power reducing option in the firmware it would be great to use these bigger antennas (because of the small output angle) and with your power over ethernet (PoE) and your external box to mount on antenna mast it would be very famous solution in local wireless networks here in the Czech Republic, that's certain. People are widely using WiFi technology for internet connection, because the prices of ADSL and other options are still very high.
In the first versions of the WP11A+ firmware, the TX reducing power option was available but in later versions it disappeared...
Well I don't know if the chipset of WL11B+of supports reducing of the TX power but i am certain that if Compex WP11B+ could do it with the new firmware then this fact would highly increase its sales here...;-)

Our WP11B+ has a TX power of 15dBm (appro. 30mW) and does not support
regulation of TX power. This output power is well below the FCC and CE
standards. If you are using an external antenna, please keep in mind
that most antennas are passive components that does not amplify your
signal. So the use of antennas should not make you violating the rules.
Maybe you can share with me in greater detail on what is the specified
wireless rules in your country?
On the other hand, we do have an alternative and better solution here
for you. Our WPE54G is a wireless-g access point provides up to 5 times
performance of a 11b devices and it comes with adjustable output power.
Would you be interested to consider switching to this product? Its
datasheet is attached for your reference.

Neboli Compex WP11B+ regulaci nepodporuje, a oni tvrdi ze vzhledem k jeho vyzarovacimu vykonu 15dBm, ktery je v norme a vzhledem k tomu ze vsechny externi anteny jsou pasivni, muzem si dovolit pripojit libovolne velkou antenu...;-)
Nojo, ty jsi jim dostatecne nezduraznil, ze v nasich podminkach generalni licence jde o EFFECTIVE ISOTROPIC RADIATED POWER, nikoli svorkovy vykon.
I kdyz, rekneme si to uprimne: metody mereni vysokofrekvencniho vykonu dosahuji v lepsim pripade presnosti 3 dB, coz by mela byt tolerovana hodnota ze strany kontrolniho organu. Hodnota EIRP je v praxi nemeritelna (tezko si predstavit jak integrovat hodnotu vykonu na plose koule v praxi ) a o namerenych vysledcich pri kontrole by se dalo velmi polemizovat. Druha vec je, ze kontrolni organ (CTU) nema ze zakona moznost vstupovat do obydli ani jinych prostoru, ktere jsou v majetku fyzicke nepodnikajici osoby. Jinymi slovy, obavat mereni se mohou pouze firmy, podnikatele ve svych provozovnach a to je asi tak vse. Pokud mate doma na baraku 30 dB parabolu, CTU tam proste nepustite a je to. Jedinou moznost jak se k vam dostat maji za spoluprace policie na zaklade povoleni, ktere jim vyda soud na zaklade podezreni ze spachani trestneho cinu (a tim rozhodne neni prekracovani vyzareneho vykonu, to je jen a pouze prestupek).
Tak jim napis hezky cesky (radsi anglicky), ze kdyz tam das silnejsi antenu, tak ten vystup na Tx nebude 15dB (v norme), ale nad normou (20dB).
Kvuli tomu potrebujes regulaci vyzareneho vykonu u 11B+.
A ze G-cko je zatim velmi drahe na nase pomery.
