Sem zkousel 42m. Ale bylo to pres 22db sito a na relativne kratkou vzdalenost (do 1km). Ovsem vzhledem k tloustce kabelu a jeho pracne instalaci by bylo nejlepsi postavit nejaky transparentni router. (tim minim linux co bude fungovat jako switch. Co prijme na jedne eth, posle na druhou eth a dal se o to nestara - maximalne co se mac adres tyce). Ovsem jeste sem nenasel nikoho, kdo by takhle ten linux zprovoznil :(
Proc tedy nepouzit regulerni switch? Ten co vezme na jedne strane hodi na druhou - a stoji novy kolem 1100 bez DPH (5port), mozna uz i 900. Jinak ja linux jako switch rozchodil - je na to nejaky demon volba v kernelu a ten demon snad umi i 802.3 spanning tree protocol - v kernelu je to snad pod bridge v networking
No regulerni switch ma jednu nevyhodu. Ma jen ethernet port a pcmcia ci pc card se do nej strka blbe A dat tam dve zarizeni co maji ethernet vyjde ponekud draho. Proto by to bylo potreba v jednom stroji (linuxu).
Mas nejake blizsi info pro linuxu neznaleho, kterak to zprovoznit ?
If you say Y here, then your Linux box will be able to act as an
Ethernet bridge, which means that the different Ethernet segments it
is connected to will appear as one Ethernet to the participants.
Several such bridges can work together to create even larger
networks of Ethernets using the IEEE 802.1 spanning tree algorithm.
As this is a standard, Linux bridges will cooperate properly with
other third party bridge products.

Note that if your box acts as a bridge, it probably contains several

No pokud je to podle 802.1d tak to mozna automaticky znamena ze to ma ten spanning tree (ale to je very IMHO AFAIK).
